HIGUDiscussion questions!!!

thebiggesthigurashi:

I have three for today:

  1.  Who should the ultimate blame be put on? Takano, or Nomura? (Or someone else, perhaps?)
  2. Do you think the club should have forgiven Takano for her actions?
  3. What is your general opinion on Hanyuu’s behavior during Matsuribayashi-hen?

1: I would partly blame Takano for taking it way over the line (if this refers to her, Hinamizawa Syndrome, and wanting to be “God”). She could have followed her Grandfather’s research as far as she could but she got too caught up in wanting to make a name for her Grandfather (and her) that she was blinded by her own greed. That greed just ended up consuming her in a way that was either it’s her way or well, her way I suppose. She injected her ‘lover’ with a syringe with the Syndrome, as well as offering herself in the event everything goes smoothly for her, has caused the mass-murder of a village, was able to use the government to her whim for the goal of reaching this, etc.

2. Going by the anime, I think they group as a whole were to lenient on her. I believe they didn’t really understand how awful the actual events would be, sparing Minagoroshi-hen, Tatarigoroshi-hen,Yakusamashi-hen where characters did see the events after it was too late or they thought something had occurred) had they seen her do the actual crimes they would have not forgiven her. There’s also Rika who’s lived through hundreds of years of the same time frame, witnessing the whole thing at certain points and I find it boggling she would forgive her. Maybe she forgave her because she realized her past or saw how crazy she had become by her own greed.  (I haven’t gotten this far in the VN so my opinion doesn’t count.)

3. (I haven’t finished the VN so my opinion doesn’t count.)
